The UX researcher
I'm Kanika — a UX Researcher with over 8 years of experience across consumer tech, fintech, and startups. I specialize in mixed-methods research, combining qualitative depth with quantitative rigor to help teams make informed product decisions.

Currently, I'm Lead UX Researcher for APAC & Middle East at IG Group, where I joined as the first researcher and built the APAC research function from the ground up. I own the research roadmap across crypto, trading, and investment products — shaping how the team understands the way people across different markets think about growing and managing their money.

Prior to that, I led research across Southeast Asia for multiple business verticals at Grab in Singapore, and spent four years at Google in the United States — working across Hardware and Workspace products.
The occasional speaker & mentor
I occasionally speak at conferences and community events — it helps me organise my own thoughts and connect with others in the field.

I also mentor junior UX researchers on the practicalities of breaking in and growing — resume reviews, interview prep, and navigating stakeholder relationships.

The hobbyist artist
Outside of research, I like to paint. Watercolours are my medium of choice — a slow, unstructured contrast to the work I do every day.
